Featuring Puretec, Perfecting Water

October to December 2026: free, no-obligation quotes from licensed local plumbers on whole-house water filters from Puretec

Don't just drink filtered water. Shower in it.

One filter at the mains looks after every tap in the house.

An under-sink filter only treats the kitchen tap. A Puretec whole-house system is fitted where the mains water enters your property, so your kitchen, showers, baths, laundry and outdoor taps all run filtered water.

Your O'Brien® or Laser® plumber checks your home, water and pressure, recommends the right system, and installs it to Australian Standards.

What filtered water does for your home

Better-tasting water

Reduces the chlorine taste and smell at every tap, including the one you fill the kettle from.

Kinder on skin and hair

Less chlorine in the shower and bath can help with dry skin and hair.*

Protects your appliances

Less sediment means fewer blockages in tapware, hot water systems and appliances. FilterWall™ F4 and F6 also manage scale build-up.

Fewer plastic bottles

With filtered water on tap you can stop buying bottled water and leave the slabs at the shop.

Three ways to better water

All three are Puretec Tier-1 systems built for Australian and New Zealand conditions and backed by a 10-year warranty.* Choose the one that suits your home, or let your plumber recommend it.

Common questions

How is a whole-house filter different from an under-sink filter?

An under-sink filter treats water at one tap. A whole-house system is installed where the mains water enters your property, so every tap, shower, bath and appliance gets filtered water.

Do I need a plumber to install it?

Yes. Puretec requires a licensed plumber to install its whole-house systems at the mains entry point, and a professional install keeps your warranty valid. Your local O'Brien® or Laser® member handles the whole job.

How often do the cartridges need changing?

Usually every 6 to 12 months, depending on how much water your household uses and the quality of your local supply. We can book it in for you.

Will it soften my water?

No. A water softener removes the minerals that cause hard water. ScaleProtect™ on FilterWall™ F4 and F6 leaves them in and changes how they behave, so scale is easier to clean and you get less spotting on glass and shower screens. For water harder than about 140 ppm, your plumber may suggest adding a Puretec water softener.

Will it reduce my water pressure?

Not when it's sized correctly. Each system is rated up to 55 L/min (FilterWall™ F3 and F4 up to 30 L/min) and is designed to keep performing when several taps are running. We'll match the system to your home's size and pressure.

What does the warranty cover?

All three systems carry a 10-year warranty: one year parts and labour plus nine years parts only. Cartridges aren't covered. FilterWall™ custom colours carry a two-year finish warranty.

How much does it cost?

That depends on the system, your pipework and where it's being installed. Your local member will give you a clear, no-obligation quote after looking at your home.
